Hello Reader, I hope you are doing well! Our family is doing well on the farm here in Alabama. Spring is trying to come; despite this cold snap we are having. We are busy working in the gardens, caring for animals, remodeling our porch into a sunroom and utility room, and trying to learn how to get more sleep! God is so good, we are learning more and more about the importance of walking in the Spirit. It is incredible. The Power of Jesus LIVES in us as believers! We don't need to get the victory; we already have it. Just like we often give way to the flesh in us, we need to give way to the Spirit so God can manifest the fruits of the Spirit in our life on a daily basis. Lack of patience with my kids or failure to be gentle in the way I am dealing with my wife or lack of peace as I try to fix my vehicle are all evidence that I need to repent, submit to the Holy Spirit, and let Him produce the fruit God wants in my life. I plan to do a longer newsletter update when I have more time but here are two updates I wanted to give you: No Trainings in 2026Initially we were planning on just doing one training in the fall this year. But this spring I am finishing up a project helping launch a regenerative ag program with Alabama's after school program, and that is not leaving me much time outside of farm projects to write the books I feel God asking me to write this year. So we are postponing any non-local trainings until 2027. We are doing a Well-Watered Garden with our church and keeping boots on the ground as practitioners, just not doing any trainer's trainings this year. We also hoped to do a conference this fall but felt led to wait on that as well. When God told me to write the Well-Watered Garden Handbook in 2020 it took a crop-devastating hailstorm to finally make me sit down and write it, so I am trying to obey earlier and avoid that! Brand New Well-Watered Garden Project Website! As many of you know, the Well-Watered Garden Project is a resource that we have worked to develop over the years as a tool for the church that applies the principles of Foundations for Farming to a context like the US. Our vision is to see one million WWG's all over the US! One of the challenges is tracking and facilitating the growing network of WWG's being installed around the country and world. Up till now we didn't have a tool to do that well. As a result, I am excited to announce the launch of our new website! It includes new features like:
Check it out and let me know if you have any feedback or suggestions for changes. I hope it helps you understand the vision better and connect with others who may be working in your area. If you are using the WWGP in your community or ministry, please consider adding it to the map! Okay, well I need to wrap up so I can get some other writing done before going to turn our church's compost pile while the kid's practice for their upcoming church play. God Bless!
